    Key Duties/Responsibilities

    Oil Measurement Analyst
    Location: Sundown/Lubbock Area
    Specific Responsibilities:
    The Oil Measurement Analyst, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Measurement Department team at the company’s Midland, TX, office reporting to the oil measurement foreman. 
    This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

    • Provide continued onsite job training to pumpers and foreman to help ensure that proper measurement occurs via LACT or Hand Run sales.
    • Witness monthly meter provings to ensure they meet API guidelines, BLM standards, University of Texas, Rail Road Commission and Company spec’s.
    • Assist in the inspection, upkeep, and maintenance of Apache’s custody transfer LACT units by providing assistance in securing the best and most cost effective solution to any maintenance issues that may arise with the LACT units (repair what we can or bring in the best contractor for the necessary repair in that area)
    • Work as a liaison between all governing agencies to ensure Apache is meeting the requirement of each group, when we are selling oil out of a LACT or Hand Run.
    • During monthly meter provings inspect LACTs to ensure they meet proper seal/security requirements and if seals are lacking make the proper notifications.
    • Evaluate existing Apache LACT equipment and make recommendations to upgrade production equipment to maximize oil sales.
    • Participate in LACT installation, witnessing, calibrations and shake outs and/or oversee contractors and pumpers to ensure that Apache’s measurement interests are monitored and meet contractual, state and federal requirements.
    • Provide onsite measurement assistance to accounting (Avocet Analyst), Pumpers, Foreman and Engineering when issues arise such as measurement disputes/discrepancies. Review and be familiar with the measurement sections of oil contracts to help resolve measurement disputes.
    • Maintain LACT historic records to trend meter factors, S&W and/or other items that could have an impact on the LACT performance.
    • Be aware of LACT and run ticket record keeping locations for Apache meter documents that will satisfy contractual, state and federal requirements.
    • Communicate with purchasers, review LACT and truck sales proving reports and run tickets to better identify and resolve measurement discrepancies.
    • Work with Apache’s Marketing group to help eliminate transporter issues, including RVP, sulfur and gravity.
    • Assist in resolving transportation issues that arise involving trucking companies. Including service issues, lease assessments, lease locations (providing maps or GPS coordinates to help transportation company’s transition into their new role) when changing transportation company’s
    • Be aware of and help track measurement related costs associated with various fields to assist foreman with existing and future budgeting issues.
    • Participate in witnessing Hand Run tank sales to ensure transporters are following the proper procedures.
    • Witness tank strappings to ensure Apache’s oil volumes are paid correctly and Avocet is utilizing the correct tank table for each tank.
    • Witness water draws to ensure they are done by API guidelines.

    Professional Qualifications & Experience:

    The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • 5+ years of related experience with a High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Must be proficient in computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, Avocet, and Prolink.
