    Key Duties/Responsibilities


    • Lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices and ensure compliance with environmental statute and regulation
    • Manage and develop corporate environmental staff
    • Lead corporate environmental staff in annual sustainability reporting efforts
    • Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans that ensure operations are consistent with sustainable development
    • Direct environmental impact assessments to identify, quantify and reduce the organization’s environmental risks and financial costs
    • Promote and raise awareness, at all levels of an organization, of the impact of emerging environmental issues, whether legislative, regulatory or best practice, on corporate, ethical and social responsibility
    • Coordinate pollution control and waste management, recycling, environmental health and conservation practices related to company operations
    • Audit, analyze and report environmental performance to internal and external stakeholders and regulatory bodies
    • Coordinate public interactions and consultations on environmental matters
    • Provide training opportunities for staff relating to environmental issues and responsibilities
    • Participate in environmental education and research
    • Negotiate environmental service agreements and manage associated costs and revenues
    • Review and edit environmental reports and documents
    • Participate in industry groups focused on environmental management and knowledge sharing for improving performance.
    • Implement and utilize formal Management of Change procedures to improve environmental and regulatory compliance
    • Direct environmental due diligence investigations in support of Business Development efforts (acquisition and divestiture)
    • Develop and manage annual departmental budget

    Job Qualifications


    • Bachelor of Science degree in the area of Environmental studies or related field
    • Advanced degree in Environmental studies or related field preferred 


    • 10+ years of experience with an emphasis on oil and gas operations.
    • 15+ years of professional environmental experience with a strong knowledge of Environmental regulations and some Health and Safety regulatory knowledge
    • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing environmental management plans and programs
    • Direct experience with environmental data systems
    • Strong verbal and written communications skill are imperative
    • Track record of embracing Apache’s Core Values and demonstrating its key Leadership Attributes
    • Prior supervisory (people management) experience preferred
    • Prior budget management experience preferred
    • Prior experience in ESG and Sustainability is a plus
    • Environmental Professional certifications are a plus
