    Key Duties/Responsibilities

    Position Title: IT Project Management Office Support Analyst


    Location: Houston, Texas


    Specific Responsibilities:

    The IT Project Management Office Support Analyst, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s IT Strategy & Planning team at the company’s Houston, Texas, office reporting to the Senior Manager of IT Strategy & Planning. 


    This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

    • Responsible for ensuring the PMO tools and processes are adequate to support delivery of key organizational initiatives;
    • Manage data & track key information to improve project performance and overall project portfolio quality and process consistency; ensuring projects are delivered on-time, on-budget with high quality;
    • Analyze data and project information to identify process improvements as well as new business opportunities and provide information to senior management to guide decision-making;
    • Assemble bi-weekly status reports across all projects for senior management;
    • Establishes and owns all project management processes, procedures, standards, and tools for program and project management; and
    • Support formal Project Management Life Cycle, Software Development Life Cycle, and Change Management Process.

    The role will include support of the following activities:

    • Continuously improve standards, processes, and tools for executing projects;
    • Ensure that information passes to and from IT teams and business stakeholders;
    • Manage, measure, and report metrics regarding the operational functions of the project management office;
    • Provide guidance and advice for project managers to help understand how projects are executed;
    • Gather project data and compile information for management review;
    • Provide summary reporting to governance groups and increased visibility to resource constraints across projects;
    • Cultivate program for developing internal/external skill-set to deliver projects based on project management office framework;
    • Actively participate in governance review board decision making process at various levels; and
    • Facilitate project stage gate reviews.

    Job Qualifications

    Professional Qualifications & Experience:

    The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent;
    • Typical relevant experience 5-7 years, including at least 3 years managing large technology engagements and understanding of full life cycle implementations;
    • 5+ years of experience in lead role for project planning, delivery and execution required; and
    • 5+ years of formal project management / business analysis experience required.
    • Must have strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills;
    • Ability to identify need for and develop standards and supporting materials;
    • Proven ability to establish priorities, develop measurable objectives, work independently, and lead project teams to successfully meet or exceed objectives;
    • Capable of taking innovative approaches to problem solving; and
    • Strong, positive interpersonal skills.
