Position Title: Chemist I
Location: San Antonio, TX
The Chemist I, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s NAUR Chemicals team at the company’s San Antonio, TX office reporting to the Region Chemical Program Manager.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
• Collect fluids and solids samples in the field
• Run tests in the field and in the labs
• Collaborate with production, completion, water resources, and drilling operations on sampling and field tests
• Setup and maintain pumps
• Check chemical inventories
• Work closely with HSS&E
• Bring in lab test data and transform them into a usable format
• Analyze testing data
• Design field test procedures
• Collaborate with engineers in other departments and provide technical support to production, completion, water resources, and drilling.
• Work with third party labs
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Less than 2 years’ Experience in oil and gas industry
Bachelor’s Degree in related field, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience in data analysis tools, including R, Spotfire, MVB.
Base in San Antonio, but requires more than 50% travel
