    Key Duties/Responsibilities

    Position Title: EHS Drilling Coordinator II

     

    Location: Midland, Texas

     

    Specific Responsibilities:

    The EHS Drilling Coordinator II, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s HSSE Permian team at the company’s Midland, Texas, office.

    Responsible for providing support to the drilling department as it relates to environmental, health, and safety in the oil and gas industry, under the supervision of the Senior EHS Coordinator for drilling. This individual will monitor scheduled and unscheduled 2nd- and 3rd-party work over the course of all drilling activities, from pad construction to rig release and mobilization. Assist in the assignment and supervision of any employees contracted for EHS purposes. Strong leadership and relationship-building skills are essential.

     

    This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

    • Regular communication with operations personnel for job planning
    • Delegation of assignments and supervision for contracted EHS consultants
    • Interface with multiple operation departments for continuity and transition purposes
    • Close proximity (of public) assessments
    • Conduct/participate in pre-job safety meetings for jobs and events across the full range of operations on a drilling rig
    • Attend/participate in/conduct pre-move meetings prior to rig mobilization
    • Conduct independent route assessments prior to pre-move meetings
    • Interface with contractor and EHS and operations departments
    • Knowledge of governmental regulatory guidelines and API and ANSI standards and recommended practices for the oil and gas industry
    • Incident investigation and root cause analysis
    • SPCC development and execution
    • Development and execution of crisis management plans and drills
    • Hazard identification
    • Consistent, ongoing interface with all personnel on a drill site, with an emphasis cultivating a zero-risk exposure environment
    • Communicate in precise and clear terms situational conditions
    • Strong report writing skills
    • Access ISN to assist operations department in determining vendor or contractor qualification

    Job Qualifications

    Professional Qualifications & Experience:

    The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

    • 10 years minimum, 3 of which are drilling rig-related
    • 4 years minimum experience HSE-related, preferably drilling rig-specific.
    • Positions during which work was performed as a safety lead man on a crew or work group may be counted toward work and HSE experience.

    Must be willing to relocate to the West Texas Area
