Supervise and coordinate activities of a team of Geophysicists to generate new drilling opportunities for oil and gas exploration and development projects, and develop strategic exploitation and business plans to capture these opportunities. Utilize knowledge of geophysical software packages to perform seismic interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data. Oversee seismic processing and reprocessing projects, and review seismic license agreements. Provide expertise and guidance on seismic attributes, rock physics and quantitative interpretation. Collaborate with production management teams on oil and gas exploration and/or exploitation activities. Prepare and administer capital expenditure and expense budgets, and approve recommendations submitted by subordinates.
Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics or foreign equivalent
3 years’ of senior level exploration and development experience as a Geophysicist utilizing seismic interpretation, quantitative interpretation, seismic depth conversions, rock physics analysis, geosteering, as well as petroleum economics and risk analysis related to developments on multiple concurrent projects; utilizing structural, sedimentology and stratigraphy in a compressional and extensional geological setting; conducting and interpreting pre and post stack inversions on oil and gas reservoirs, including clastic, unconventional shale and carbonate reservoirs; utilizing Paradigm and Petrel software programs for exploration and development projects in the Permian Basin.
