    Key Duties/Responsibilities



    Reporting to the Production Manager for Unconventional Resources, provide construction/process support at a senior professional level for Apache’s Permian Region.


    Plan, develop and manage the efficient deployment of production equipment, compressors, and tank batteries, gathering systems, piping and processing facilities. This position is solely responsible for all facilities engineering, and administrative work required to support daily production and operations, and for ensuring that all equipment is designed and implemented in a safe and environmentally prudent manner.


    Position is responsible for evaluating and proposing work, conducting engineering related to all drilling and operations facilities, generating work plans, preparing AFEs and obtaining all required financial approvals, preparing permit documents, and obtaining all required regulatory approvals.



    • Facility Engineering will concentrate on facilities to support the drilling program.
    • Facility Engineers will provide drawings and layouts of facilities as well as scope of work to Operations personnel for comment and discussion.
    • Provide final construction drawings and lock down scope of work after review with Operations.
    • Follow Apache Construction Guidelines and Specifications.
    • Develop project schedule for work to be done and report on progress weekly.
    • Provide cost tracking of projects against approved AFE.
    • Present AFE’s to the approval meeting.
    • Construction Foremen will report directly to the Facility Construction Superintendent who will report to the Facility Engineering Manager.
    • Construction Superintendent will communicate with area Production Foreman and/or District Manager on progress and/or issues during construction.
    • Any Operations personnel dedicated to the execution of the construction project will report through the Construction Superintendent.
    • Construction Superintendent will work with Operations personnel to identify staging areas for equipment for the project.
    • Be responsible for any cost overruns of project and execution of the construction project.
    • Adhere to all HSE requirements for the area that the construction work is being done.
    • Work with the Procurement Department to obtain any needed materials and/or equipment for the construction project.
    • Develop job books and as-built drawings for the project.
    • Provide any HAZOP requirements of the facility.
    • Provide PSSR in coordination with Operations personnel once facility completed.
    • Develop check list and handover to Operations personnel.
    • Be available to assist Operations personnel on any facility operations issues.

    Job Qualifications



    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Production, Chemical, Electrical or Process Engineering
    • 5+ years of relevant E&P company experience in facilities engineering and field operations


    • High level of production engineering expertise with experience in all types of facilities related to the full life cycle of drilling equipment, oil wells, pipelines, storage and processing facilities
    • Strong communication and organizational skills - able to work well with production engineers, field personnel, geoscience team, management and stakeholders
    • Proven track record of financial performance and responsibility with experience in budget and schedule planning, AFE preparation and economic evaluation
