    Key Duties/Responsibilities

    General Responsibility

    • Mentor, lead, guide, assist, and set positive tone for workforce
    • Assist in project development as directed by HSE Supervisor
    • Establish Apache HSSE Culture with employees and contractors to ensure Apache’s policies are met
    • Provide support to ensure compliance with all federal and state safety and environmental regulations such as OSHA, Texas Railroad Commission, and TCEQ
    • Support drilling, completions, production, and facilities construction operational activities
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Presentation
    • Experience in constructing and producing a well written internal document

    Safety Responsibility

    • Provide direction and quality assurance, from an HSE perspective, to workforce
    • Support all Simultaneous Operations, Management of Change, Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews, Hazard Assessments, Excavations, Hot work, and Confined Space entry projects
    • Update and maintain both emergency response plans and field safety guidelines
    • Monthly area safety meetings – schedule, prepare, and conduct HSE training
    • Conduct new hire orientations, and assist with specialized training for employees
    • Complete “Internal Incident Report” following incident – Ensure preliminary root causes and corrective actions are included in initial report
    • Create internal incident reports to be submitted to HSE Supervisor
    • Perform and participate in incident investigations
    • Facility/tank battery inspections to ensure compliance with established Apache HSE goals and standards

    Contractor Responsibility

    • Perform workover rig and drilling rig inspections
    • Attend contractor safety meetings - prioritize by incident rate
    • Conduct contractor safety program audits
    • Assist in scheduling and participate in contractor townhall meetings
    • Quality assurance for contractor safety meeting reporting and file upload
    • Train, support and coordinate contract site safety representatives for all operations

    Environmental Responsibility

    • Perform NORM surveys
    • Respond to all spills in area
    • Track and record spills in order to submit to proper agencies. Work directly with area foremen and Environmental Supervisor to develop and perform proper remediation and track costs
    • Contact RRCTX and Environmental Supervisor when spill incident occurs
    • Construct H8 forms for RRCTX submittal
    • Gather soil samples and take to analytical lab for testing
    • Construct closure letter for RRCTX and submit to HSE Supervisor

    Job Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:  

    • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • A minimum of 5 years of HSE experience. 
    • Oil and gas industry experience.
    • Strong knowledge of industry and government HSE standards and regulations.
    • Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • The willingness and ability to travel to field locations in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
    • Solid problem solving skills and be recognized as results oriented.
    • Effective interpersonal and team communication skills.
    • The ability to be self-directed and self-motivated and the ability to be team player.
    • Strong experience in conducting and leading root cause investigations.
    • Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree.
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
    • 10 years of HSE experience.
