    Key Duties/Responsibilities

    Responsible for providing administrative support to the Region Land Department, under the supervision of the Land Admin Supervisor. Monitors and updates lease records, contracts, and lease expirations.  Assists in analysis and interpretation of leases, deeds, and agreements involving Company assets to establish and maintain Tobin Land Suite (“TLS”) data. Originates and confirms data used in establishing property records in TLS for 2018. Monitors production cessation reports, maintains critical well list and reports findings to Landman and Production Engineer.   Prepares requests for payment to lessors and partners. Familiar with contract limitations and relevant legal constraints. Resolves minor problems with partners. Utilizes relevant manual and computer systems.

     

    KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist Landmen with preparation, review, correspondence, research, analysis, etc. of all land and lease records and associated contracts
    • Coordinate, process, and track workover, non-op and new well proposal AFEs
    • Prepare LPRs for leases and create Electronic Property Memorandum (“EPM”) for new wells, payouts, non-consents, farmouts, P&As, recompletions
    • General internet research: Texas Railroad Commission, State of New Mexico Oil Conservation Division, New Mexico State Land Office, University Lands, Drilling Info, Premier Data Services, IHS, etc.
    • Coordinate mass mailings, track certified mailings
    • Coordinate wire payments and check requests for lease bonus, vendor payments, cash calls
    • Review monthly obligation, payment and expiration calendars
    • Assist Corporate Land Administration with payouts on wells and ensure facilities have been correctly set up and billed. Monitors payout accounting monthly report.
    • Ensures lease data, expense and revenue decks, and property records are correctly set up, cross referenced and all terms and obligations for maintaining leases will be met
    • Work with GIS team to resolve mapping issues
    • Assist with acquisition and divestiture projects
    • Recognize, participate in and act as a resource for special projects

    Job Qualifications

    EDUCATION:  

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

     

    EXPERIENCE:  

      • 10 + years of in-house land analyst experience with a major or large independent oil and gas company
      • Quorum or Tobin Land system experience preferred
      • Texas and/or New Mexico lease and title experience required
