Apache Corporation is one of the world's premier independent oil and gas producers. The company has a six-decade record of profitable growth, and is differentiated by its strong core values, entrepreneurial spirit, and operational focus.
Analyze geophysical data to support multi-disciplinary teams (well planning/drilling/completions) on exploration and development phases of oil and gas drilling projects. Prepare geophysical interpretation results and seismic attribute analysis to minimize critical risk elements in planning and execution of planned well drilling programs (pre-drill and post drill). Calibrate wire line log and engineering data to regional and prospect level geophysical interpretation mapping, utilizing Decision-Space, Hampson Russell, and Transform software packages to generate results for operations. Perform reservoir characterization through established methodologies, including mapping, attribute generation and extraction, velocity modeling, depth conversion, and hazard identification. Generate internal prospects and evaluate external prospects for lease, sale, and farm-in opportunities through the interpretation of geophysical data. Work with geophysical seismic data processing vendors and exercise discretional decision-making authority to optimize processing and testing parameters during time and depth data processing work flows.
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Geophysics
EXPERIENCE: 2 years of oil and gas exploration and drilling experience as a Geophysicist designing, interpreting, and making recommendations regarding 2D/3D surveys; utilizing geophysics methodologies to optimize costs and improve efficiencies of exploration and drilling operations; and providing geophysical input to support new venture and development plays. Experience may be gained before or after Master's Degree.
