Engineer Reservoir Staff

The Engineer Reservoir Advisor will provide expertise, manage and optimize producing assets in the Permian Region.  This position is primarily responsible for data gathering, reserve estimation and economic evaluation for prospects, wells, and fields. This position will lead a project team from prospect to discovery and through the appraisal and development stages.  

Prospect Analysis (internal and external)

• Work with Geologists and Geophysicists to understand the prospect concept and risks
• Evaluate offset producing and rock characteristics of targeted objectives
• Provide reserve ranges using risk analysis software.
• Determine a likely Recovery Factor range
• Determine likely development plans
• Perform economic evaluations and sensitivities.

Exploration/ Appraisal Well Evaluation

• Assist with logging tool selection and core study parameters
• Supervise or assist with MDT points and construct interpretation
• Assist with Log Analysis
• Supervise PVT and Flow Assurance (wax, asphaltene) studies
• Construct or assist with NODAL analysis modeling
• Interpret and/or assist/supervise the occasional Pressure Transient Test

Acquisitions and Divestitures

• Evaluate strategic acquisition candidates
• Evaluate and quantify upside drilling potential
• Provide economic analysis for drilling, recompletion or workover candidates

Petroleum Engineering Studies

• Evaluate on a Field or well basis
• Use classical reserve engineering techniques (Material Balance, Performance Curve, etc) to determine drilling, recomplete, workover, stimulation potential
• Construct economics and present ideas to management and partners

EDUCATION:  

• BS/MS/Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or related field.

EXPERIENCE:  

• 12+ year’s relevant industry experience in Reservoir Engineering.
• Demonstrated success as a Reservoir Engineer
• Expertise estimating reserves
• Expertise  in technical applications such as ARIES, Peep, OFM and reserves software
• Expertise in Reservoir simulation and nodal analysis
• Competence in MS Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint  and Project
• Excellent analytical skills
