Key Duties/Responsibilities

Candidate will be responsible for managing Apache’s IT Automation team. The team is responsible for centralized ownership and support of Apache’s SCADA and Data Historian Environments. This position requires a motivated individual with strong technical ability, leadership, customer relationship management, and communication skills, who excels at driving delivery. Candidate will be responsible for working with individual operating regions as well as corporate advisory teams to prioritize work and ensure sound operation of Apache’s field automation solutions. 

 

  • Assume IT ownership of Apache’s Automation Systems Team.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of employees while driving team performance.
  • Set technical direction, provide day to day support, and execute projects across Apache’s operating regions.
  • Coordinate across regions to ensure consistency and standardization of solutions.
  • Prioritize, organize, and manage software development, configuration, and support to ensure on time completion of projects in parallel with day to day support activities.
  • Communicate delivery schedules, issues, and associated impacts to stakeholders in an effective and timely fashion.
  • Foster strong business relationships, manage key stakeholders, and ensure alignment between IT and the operating regions it supports.
  • Participate in business and technical planning to ensure capital projects provide value and are in alignment with corporate strategy.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • 10 or more years of experience in Information Technology and/or Oil and Gas Operations.
  • 5 or more years of oil and gas industry experience.
  • 3 or more years of formal management experience.
  • Experience with SCADA system configuration, operation, and/or administration required.
  • Experience with Data Historians including managing time series data and visualizations.
  • Hands on experience with CygNet and/or Wonderware preferred.
  • Hands on experience with OSISoft PI, Asset Framework, and CoreSight/Vison preferred.
  • Experience working in upstream and/or midstream and interacting with operational teams required.
  • Proven experience managing business relationships and engaging with all levels of Senior Management.
  • Experience leading projects and teams including budgeting, resourcing, and delivery.
  • Experience leading software development using defined SDLC methodologies.
  • Solid people skills and business partnership orientation.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
