    Key Duties/Responsibilities



    Apache’s Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program (“Compliance Program”) is team focused, service oriented, and values driven. The Compliance Program is designed to promote the company’s culture of integrity, and create business value through responsible conduct in accordance with all laws, rules, regulations, the company policies, and the company’s core values. The Compliance Specialist I is an entry-level position in the compliance and ethics space that will report to Apache’s Director of Compliance and will be responsible for assisting in a wide range of compliance and ethics-related tasks and activities across the organization, as detailed more fully below.


    KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

    • Assisting the Director of Compliance with the development, administration, integration, and maintenance of compliance and ethics-related policies and procedures;
    • Providing support regarding the design and implementation of the company’s communication and training resources that are focused on the relevant elements of the Compliance Program;
    • Assisting in reviewing and developing policies, programs, initiatives, and procedures that reinforce the company’s culture of integrity and compliance;
    • Assisting the Director of Compliance in ensuring that compliance efforts are appropriately documented and monitored;
    • Communicating and collaborating, as requested, with the company’s business segments and geographic regions regarding compliance-related matters and activities;
    • Assisting, on an as-needed basis, with appropriate follow-up on compliance or ethics-related concerns, as well as data entry and maintenance of the Apache hotline;
    • Serving as an information source for the Compliance Program by answering questions, referring inquiries as necessary, and keeping abreast of legal, regulatory, and compliance developments relevant to the company’s business;
    • Assisting in the preparation of presentations and reports to executive management and the Board of Directors regarding Apache’s compliance-related reports and initiatives;and
    • Traveling as business needs require to domestic and international locations.

    Job Qualifications




    • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials from a competitive college or university is required.


    • A minimum of at least one year of experience working in a corporate compliance or human resources discipline is strongly preferred.
    • Oil and gas industry experience is not required, but is a plus.




    The successful candidate will possess and will be able to demonstrate resolute values, ethics, honesty, integrity, confidence, sound judgment, emotional maturity, and professionalism. The successful candidate will also possess strong organizational, communication (both written and verbal), and time management skills to deal with a wide-variety of issues across the organization. In addition, the successful candidate will have the ability to exercise discretion and maintain and protect Apache’s confidential and sensitive information.  The successful candidate will have the ability and desire to work in a team of teams environment, with an aligned vision, mission, and strategy, as well as a desire to work with a sense of urgency and accuracy. The successful candidate should be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
