Key Duties/Responsibilities

Apache’s Gas Marketing Department is hiring an experienced marketer/trader with a focus on transportation optimization. A successful candidate is one that prefers working in a team oriented environment.  The group has a fast paced schedule with strict timelines throughout the day.  Marketers and Schedulers work in close proximity and rely on accurate and timely information sharing and collaboration between the two groups.  The ability to work under pressure, provide no-notice backup for peers, and maintain composure and professional demeanor is critical.  Marketers are on-call weekends and holidays.



  • 10+ years of gas marketing and/or trading with an emphasis on transportation optimization
  • First-hand experience trading and/or scheduling in the Permian, West, and/or Gulf Coast regions
  • Physical gas flow expertise and experience managing FT capacity
  • Solid knowledge of market fundamentals across regions and commodities
  • Extensive contacts with external trading and pipeline counterparties and producer peer group
  • Contract negotiation for long term sales
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, trading natural gas derivatives is preferred
  • Knowledge of Texas intrastate pipelines preferred
  • Gas scheduling experience preferred
