Key Duties/Responsibilities



Under the direction of the Permian Region HR Manager, this position is responsible for providing a full range of Human Resource Generalist support at the Permian Region office in Midland, Texas.   The incumbent will be responsible for executing sound business practices in all Human Resource areas of responsibility, including but not limited to the following: employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, training, compensation planning, policy implementation, coaching, and performance management. This position also requires an extremely perceptive individual who is capable of relating to employees at all levels within the organization. The incumbent must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and business priorities.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

  • In partnership with the HR Manager, formulate Human Resource strategies for the Permian office that will facilitate the achievement of business goals;
  • Oversee employment, placement,transfer, development, and promotion activities to maintain proper staffing levels consistent with company objectives and in alignment with EEO/AAP guidelines including through the use of the transactional processes in SAP corresponding to each of these activities;
  • Be responsible for the administration of sourcing, hiring, and onboarding of all local Permian Region personnel;
  • Collaborate with local management on recommendations for development, promotion, and performance management;
  • Prepare reports, analyses, and recommendations that allow management to anticipate and make sound workforce-related decisions;
  • Coordinate with management and employees to resolve conflicts and provide guidance and counsel for employment related issues;
  • Provide consultation on education and training activities required to support the business;
  • Facilitate short term disability program administration of the fitness for duty and return to work programs;
  • Act as an employee relations specialist;
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings as well as attend other meetings, programs, and seminars as needed;
  • Maintain human resource information system (HRIS) records and compile reports from the database;
  • Partner with employees and management to communicate and administer various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations; and
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze data, and make recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.

Job Qualifications


  •  B.S. Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or equivalent is required; a Master’s Degree or MBA is preferred.


  • Three to five years of professional HR experience; and
  • HR Generalist experience within the oil and gas industry is preferred.



The incumbent must have the following:

  • General knowledge base in human resources;
  • Thorough working knowledge of HR-related procedures and practices, company benefit programs, personnel administration systems, salary administration, recruitment techniques, EEO and Affirmative Action Planning, and relocation procedures;
  • Working knowledge of all laws as they relate to HR issues, plus strong business acumen;
  • A willingness to relocate to other operational areas of the company given reasonable notice;
  • The ability to manage multiple processes and priorities and to be flexible and meet deadlines;
  • The ability to evaluate information, resolve problems, and communicate results;
  • The ability and desire to work in a team of teams environment, with an aligned vision, mission and strategy;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer services skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Advanced experience in Excel and proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
  • Desire to work with a sense of urgency and accuracy; and
  • Strong values, ethics, honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
