Key Duties/Responsibilities

This position will work within Apache’s network architecture and operations team to support Apache’s enterprise network and contribute to projects requiring network expertise.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Manage, maintain and provide technical support for field networks including VPN devices, routers, switches and wireless bridges
  • Implement new network hardware utilizing policies, configuration standards and clearly documented processes
  • Create and update network topology documentation, polices, standards and processes
  • Provide technical support resource for reported network performance or application performance issues
  • Manage and support the network monitoring and configuration management software
  • Utilize Apaches service portal to manage and create service requests, outages, and change requests
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend technologies using best practices/industry standards
  • Identify innovative ways to utilize existing applications and technologies
  • Forecast and coordinate management of change for scheduled maintenance weekends
  • Effectively communicate with end users and peers around the world
  • Support and backfill IT colleagues in the region
  • Afterhours support (on-call), International and Domestic travel may be required

Job Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive design, deployment and troubleshooting experience with large enterprises
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to clearly articulate complex issues
  • Project management and customer interfacing capabilities
  • Extensive experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewall, Wireless hardware
  • Extensive experience with Riverbed WAN optimization appliances and Cascade
  • Extensive experience with Solarwinds Network Management Suite of applications
  • Extensive experience with Network Instruments, Wireshark and packet level analysis and application performance root cause analysis
  • Extensive experience with field connectivity to include various wireless technologies ie satellite, microwave
  • High level of experience Cisco Nexus Data Center Architecture
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting EIGRP, BGP, Firewalls, IPSEC VPNs, SSL VPNs, VPN Clients, Spanning Tree, Network Security
  • Working knowledge of SNMP, Netflow, IP SLA and other management protocols
  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure and Wireless Management
  • Working knowledge of VoIP and Video Conferencing protocols.
  • Experience working in Oil and Gas industry – specifically with field support technicians.

Education and Experience:

  • CCNA or CCNP certifications a plus
  • 7-10 years’ work experience
