Key Duties/Responsibilities

Apache’s Planning team provides analytical support to the executive team on key areas such as capital allocation, funding capacity and operational performance among others. The group is exposed to key information and interacts closely with the executive team, normally under tight deadlines, to support their decision making process.

 

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize data flow across the planning process (both within Corporate and between Corporate and regional business teams)
  • Build and maintain queries, databases and economic evaluations in Excel, Access, and ARIES for further analysis
  • Build and maintain dashboards and quality control routines to improve data visibility and integrity
  • Maintain and advance the usability of Apache’s Planning database
  • Perform economic analysis sensitivities in Aries

Job Qualifications

  • Expert in Access, Excel, ARIES, TIBCO Spotfire
  • Proficient in VBA programming and SQL as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and utilize computer systems and applications as tools for analysis
  • Understanding of upstream oil and gas industry and terminology
  • Degree in Math, Science or Technology with minimal experience or non-degreed person with 8-15 years of industry experience, most of which doing work described above
  • Self-motivated and capable of proactively driving continuous improvement in the above areas
