Key Duties/Responsibilities

Apache’s Corporate Planning team provides analytical support to the executive team on key areas such as capital allocation, funding capacity and operational performance among others. The group is exposed to key information and interacts closely with the executive team, normally under tight deadlines, to support their decision making process.


  • Assist in day-to-day management of Plan and Outlook Corporate Models, including monthly and annual data updates and analysis,  coordination with accounting and various other corporate departments to incorporate adjustments, and coordination with regional planning teams to prepare single year work programs and budgets and monthly outlook projections.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and present findings on key drivers of monthly outlook variances.
  • In-depth evaluation of key internal metrics to assist management in historical analysis and long-term strategic planning.
  • Gather data to participate in evaluation of acquisitions and divestitures, reviewing input and output of financial model.
  • Preparation of presentation materials for executive management and Board of Director meetings.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or economics.
  • 2-6 years  of strong analytical experience in the oil and gas industry in a financial function; experience with O&G accounting, specifically Successful Efforts accounting preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong strategic sense combined with an ability to perform in an unstructured environment.
